Emmaus Road: our Name and Story
As the Lord walks alongside us, he reveals and we discover
Church Beyond Sunday: our Motto
We experience the fullness of God in both Gathering and Going.
In the worship gathering of fellowship, Word, sacrament, and song.
And going beyond the worship gathering, led by the Spirit,
to walk alongside others, to listen and tell our stories.
Fingerprints and Footprints:
our Call, our Mission
As a church spread out around the Sound,
we are called to leave the fingerprints of God in our homes and communities.
Wherever we live, work, and play,
empowered with gifts of the Spirit,
Loving and serving family,
passing the faith along to our next generation.
Walking alongside neighbors in relationship,
enjoying mutual hospitality.
Setting aside the secular and pagan,
to identify as part of Christ’s body.
The Word made flesh within our homes and communities.
As a church which gathers and grows in Belltown,
we are called to leave the footprint of Christ in our neighborhood.
We seek to reconcile Tower and Street cultures,
to plant seeds and cultivate new life with our neighbors.
We envision community development,
in partnership, service, art, and industry.
We set aside traditions rooted in fear, idolatry, legalism, or worldly ambition, to accept the identity of Christ’s body serving the world.
The Word made flesh within our neighborhood.
